Disoriented by the fall, the lizard was motionless and pSegolene horrified as the buzzard dove relentlessly towards her pet. But, at the last minute, the Saber-Tooth tiger pounced on the ungainly bird and ate it, feathers and all. By now recovered, the lizard scampered up pSegolene’s bare leg to retake his perch. pSegolene thanked the wondrous cat, who purred in an odd but friendly way, and the little girl sat down on a rock with her chastened lizard back on her shoulder.
