Rhyolite, the extraordinarily cosmopolitan capital of Rhyoleind, is a remarkable city filled with quite fascinating citizens. The town was founded during a gold rush, but managed to survive the bust (as well as a devastating invasion) and become the heart and soul of the gwome of Rhyoleind.
Sometimes referred to disparagingly as Welnigh, from the habits of some of their leading citizens to begin pontificating remarks with the phrase, "Well, nigh upon . . .", the people of Rhyoleind are actually a very gritty and industrious bunch.
The business community, including the Porter Brothers, Salli Cook, Thom. Kelly and others are noted for their contributions to the improvement of the community.
