One of the most famous sites in Palmery Nation is a ceremonial railing is made up entirely of blades left behind by the defeated armies at the battle of Palmyra. The Battle of Palmyra was a last desperate stand against a massive force that had moved down from Potsdam and Fort Drum to capture Niagara Falls. The people of Palmery (many of whom had just moved here after the 30 year purging of the nation of Okemos in central nMichigan) were the only force of any size prepared to fight. The other five nations between Palmery and Niagara had all been devastated by a plague, leaving them in no condition to fight. The irony is that the beauty of the blades you see here was integral to the downfall of Potsdam. The aluminum process they developed to create their weapons was far beyond the economic resources of the Potsdam Nation, necessitating the conquest of Fort Drum and ultimately Niagara for its power. The result was that the army folded quickly on the slopes of Cumorach Hill—a fact that the leadership of Palmery attributed to divine intervention.
