In Rezhn: Kymaerica [N; area C]

The Name

The name Owenzverndt translated means, “Green Lush Valley of the Owinz River.” The effusiveness of this expression only makes sense when you know that archaelogical evidence makes clear that these people originated in the area of Badwater, and therefore even the rain shadow of the Sierra Nevada would seem tropical in comparison. Nevertheless, historically, before their defeat at the pipeline at Victorville in the Half Water War, the scene in the Owens Valley was far more bucolic.

In that same war, the people of Tejas seized control of the Sequoyah district of Owensverndt (west of the mountain ridge) and even today you will see bumper stickers which read:“Free Sequoyah” or “Sequoayah for the Owenzverndt.” The people of Tejas accuse the Owensverndt of supporting the separatists in Sequoya and several battles have been fought over it. Each year when the snows melt, the bodies of several soldiers are found in Sequoia and Kings Canyon Parks.

Trend Setters

Often called the cradle of liberty, Owenzverndt’s aptly named Independence still holds the famous Liberty Bell and other near-sacred items. Interestingly, there is only one pine in this city as well.

The Owens Valley is still recovering its defeat in the Half Water War. This fight, like the fight against Al-Qaeda, was not intended as a full fledged war, and special forces from both sides did most of the fighting.
