Most people dont realize that the famous lighthouse of Coden (that stands on Shad Island at the mouth of Mobile Bay) was named for BOTH the aquatic and the terrestrial nations both named Coden. This lighthouse is of critical importance in the communication between the communities of the Mobile Shelf district and the peoples of aAlabama. The inhabitants of an ocean district and the land that adjoins them always have a unique tension in their relationship and much of it centers on the control of the intertidal zone that changes hands by the moment.
