Sierra-Nevada

Description

Sierra-Nevada

Unlike the present day state of Nevada to the east, the Nevada Nation was not named ironically. The name means “snowed upon” and for a brief time, the power of the Sierra-Nevada alliance snowed upon the entire state, though now the only receding glacier of recognition is the name of the famous mountain range.

Nevadan poets are noted for their devotion to the winter and the many extremes of their nation. And they are a bit concerned about the increasing ties between Sierra and Plumas.
