For many people, the Neverglades, a vast swamp which never existed on the site of present-day Houston is most famous as the place where Nobunaga the Younger (of Hizurokoro) faced down the rebellious samurai of his expedition.  Geologically, the Neverglades is a void, but psychologically it is a moist humid vaguely smelly sea of murk that so overpowers the physical reality that exploreres experience it as a swamp—as Nobunaga the Younger and his men did.
