Usually language evolves towards abstraction of ideas into words that represent them.  For the people of this gwome, the Parisian tongue has been enriched by the appearance of many "words" which are, in fact, experiences.  The ‘name" of this gwome IS the middle of the day.  Outsiders never understand, but locals do.  It was here also that the term "Buford" was popularized.  It means "lover", but these Parisians began the Buford’s Day tradition, banned many places, where, on a given day, a lover may hide incriminating evidence on their illicit partner and he or she must find it before their spouse does.  Needless to say, for anyone remotely unfaithful, it is a stressful time of year.
