Though this gwome is far, far from being culturally Parisian, its most famous town is, undoubtedly: Paris
Amory Frontage came here from Germany in aOregon where he had founded the Paris there. After a few years, he headed East to here, drawn by a story of verdant wildflowers in a flat, flat stretch of unlikely desert. Arriving with his followers (about half the old town) he founded the Paris of this gwome, he once again got wanderlust and headed to the Inland Empire in pCalifornia where he founded Perris.
But the town flourished for a time until the arrival of the unfortunate Edgar and Benn from Velkristan. These doomed lovers never shared much more than an embrace in their brief escape, but were betrayed by Parisian Leptocil Brighum Hausssmahn. (Their story, of course, inspired The Willamenta, the Velkristani national epic by Wtib Tstetrat.)
Soon after their capture and return to Velkristan for execution, a huge sandstorm materialized in what locals claimed was a kind of retribution—but for what no one could agree on. Half said it was for taking in the two young men and the others said it was for permitting their betrayal. Paris was virtually destroyed by the storm.
Frontage returned to lead most of the survivors to the new ground in Cradala.
